We started with a recap of announcements and updates. ARC Ohio’s new condom distribution program is almost ready to be unveiled and the
Mu Crew® will play a significant role in that endeavor as we assemble our new Condom Squad! The group will do monthly bar raids to pass out safer sex kits and engage the community in conversations about safer sex and of course we’ll use it as a chance to also mention the
Mu Crew®!
The calendar for September and October is up on the website. Two of the bigger events include the bowling fundraiser on the 17th of September and the
Mu Crew® Camping trip to Hocking Hills the 8th-10th of October. Check out the website for all of our upcoming events.
The Mu Crew® has 2 Drag Shows booked and on the calendar! The first will be at club Masque on Friday November the 26th with a theme of I Love the 80’s! and the second will be at club Aquarius on Saturday December the 18th with a theme to be determined. If you’d like to help plan those events and share ideas please join us for the
Mu Crew®’s committee meetings that occur the 4th Tuesday of every month.
The Mu Crew® has been asked to work on a Youth Media Campaign for ARC Ohio. The campaign will involve You Tube videos and Facebook ads centered on the RU+ UR- campaign slogan with the goal of getting people to get tested! We are currently looking at ideas for those 15 second You Tube videos that would be eye catching and keep people glued to them. Please submit all of your ideas to TheMuCrew@gmail.com. The winning ideas will win dinner and a movie out for 4! The target populations the ads will seek to reach are African American, Hispanic/Latino, Gay, Female, and a general ad.
For the next meeting we will be working on ways to spread Safer Sex messages effectively among the young gay community and beyond!
