What Is The Mu Crew?

The Mu Crew is an organization that primarily targets gay/bisexual men ages 18-29; however, we welcome and support any age/gender at our meetings and events. We encourage making new friends, relaxing, continuing our own education about life, doing new things, and keeping a mindset that you are who you are, and that is fine by us. We welcome diverse perspectives, experiences, and people.

We are always looking for and accepting new members! We currently have about 60 active members with a bunch of alumni. There are no membership fees, no initiation, no minimum requirement of meetings/events to attend, etc. Show up at any of our meetings (Two Tuesdays a month at 7:30pm)!

The Mu Crew organizes camping/retreats, educational outreach events, specialty speakers, community services projects, fundraising initiatives (i.e. “Disney in Drag”, “Big Gay Musical”, etc.), dances/parties, and trips to malls and nearby cities, game and movie nights, and so much more. We always have a lot of fun together, no matter what the occasion. Our events are drug and alcohol-free in the attempts to dispel some of the negative stereotypes placed on the GLBT community.

New things this year for The Mu Crew are “Hot Topics” & Coffee Talk, which both consist of having meaningful discussions around some “hot, debatable topics” of our time. For 2009, we have a wonderful set of committee leads that focus on Fundraising, Media, Education, Recruitment & Retention, Community Services, and Special Events, which will help lead us into a successful year for The Mu Crew.

Our members consist of a wide range of people such as servers, students, teachers, athletes, musicians, business owners, professionals, and everything in between.

We have our own space Downtown with new furniture, a big screen TV, surround sound, computers, etc. We hold games/parties, general meetings, and chill nights here. We have a full size catering kitchen, courtyard, and solarium.

We are a program of, and volunteers for, AIDS Resource Center Ohio. Come volunteer with us and have the time of your life!
